All Class Reunion begins Saturday with registration downtown

| August 2, 2013 9:00 AM

Months of planning and anticipation will culminate in the All Class Reunion this weekend.

More than 50 years of Badger graduates will gather around town to catch up with classmates they haven’t seen since graduation and classmates that live down the road.

Different from the last All Class Reunion, there will be no catered dinner.

Instead, attendees are encouraged to visit local restaurants, many featuring reunion specials, or food vendors for meals.

Tables and chairs will line downtown Main Street for those wanting to “dine-out.” Check out the special section in this week’s paper for amazing specials by local businesses.

On Saturday, registration begins at 10 a.m. at the former Roundheels Gun and Pawn on Main Street (next to Bonners Books) and continues until 3 p.m. At registration, attendees can pick up packets, name tags, wristbands and raffle tickets.

Music and announcements will be made throughout the day and local groups are sure to entertain between 1-3 p.m.

To document the event in history, Max Richards will take a photo of everyone in attendance at 3:30 p.m. in the Library park.

Opening ceremonies begin at 4 p.m. at the Georgia Mae Plaza with Master of Ceremonies Dan Meddock.

Teachers past and present are invited to join in the festivities.

Special music by “The Hit Men” will be from 8 to 11 p.m. during the street dance on Main Street.
