All Class Reunion awesome!
Well it happened as I imagined it would! Main Street filled up with over a thousand people on Saturday, Aug, 3 for the “All School Reunion.”
You could feel the excitement in the air. Hand shakes, slaps on the back, shouts of joy at seeing an old friend and lots and lots of hugs and laughter were seen and HEARD up and down the street from 10 a.m. until after 11 p.m. It was a day to remember and cherish in our hearts.
The committee took some chances with the changes but in the long run it paid off. We had almost 900 people register (a record) this year and even though they only paid $10 a piece it paid all the bills and put $4,000 in the scholarship fund.
Of course it would never have been such a success with out the hard work of the committee and the generosity of many people and businesses in Boundary County.
Almost all of the restaurants and two venders in Boundary County offered specials and many other kinds of businesses took part in the raffle and offered specials on top of that. Thanks to all of those businesses and those that donated to the cause. They were listed in the Herald right before the event.
The committee wants to say a special thanks to the staff at the Herald who went beyond their jobs to help us and to Mike Weland at newsbf for the web site that reached people we couldn’t.
So mark your calendar for the 1st Saturday in August 2017 for the next “All School Reunion.” Let’s shoot for 1,000 registrations!!
