Donna Jean Dinning, 73

Donna Jean (Mace) Dinning, 73, passed away at Boundary Community Hospital, Bonners Ferry, Idaho on Aug. 23, 2013.

Vigil services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church and Internment followed at Grandview Cemetery.

She was born to John Chester (Chet) and Frances (Wendel) Mace on Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940, in Bonners Ferry.

Donna attended school at Southside Elementary, Valley View and Bonners Ferry High School. She married Kenneth Dinning on Dec. 17, 1956, in Bonners Ferry.

Donna enjoyed her kids and grandkids but especially her great-great grandkids.

She was an avid sports fan. She could be found at most sporting events the kids and grandkids were in. The later years brought her to her one obsession, Gonzaga basketball.

Donna had several jobs in her community. She worked at Cone’s Cafe, they had a dairy, she delivered milk with Evelyn Stueve, cleaned house and worked in the home health care field.

Her most notable job was the lady at J.C. Penney with the big hair.

Donna is survived by her sister Janet (Wayne) Patterson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and brother John (Sandy) Mace of Yuma, Ariz.; five children: Don (Mary Cay) of Bonners Ferry; Dennis (Anita) of Chatteroy, Wash.;Keith of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Teresa Raaum (Duane) of Bonners Ferry, and Vicki of Spokane, Wash.

She also is survived by 12 grandchildren: Abby Dinning Onstott (Brett), Dr. Dustin Dinning(Andrea), Hannah Dinning Chase (James), Melissa Dinning Herres (Jake), Lacey Dinning, Donnie Dinning, Aubree Dinning, Victoria Raaum, Aimee Dinning, Kourtney Raaum, Kendra Dinning, and Zachary Raaum; six great-grandchildren: Chad Maas, Lexie Maas, Madilyn Dinning, Norah Herres, Audrey Dinning, and Finningan Herres.

She is also survived by Gifford and Lura Dinning, Evelyn Dinning, Bobby Dinning, Carolyn Dinning, LaVern and Eunice Dinning, Mary Ula (Dinning) and Bud Schaller and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; parents; and two great- grandsons; brothers-in-law Leighton, Irvin, Ray; and sister and brother-in-law Beulah (Dinning) and Lowell Lyle.
