Man charged with lewd conduct

A 38-year-old Spirit Lake man is being held at the Kootenai County jail for three felony counts of lewd conduct with a minor and one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor in Kootenai County.

Joseph B. Herbst is also being charged with two counts of lewd conduct with a minor in Boundary County.

A felony arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 6 for the two counts of lewd conduct in Boundary County that allegedly occurred on Nov. 16 with a 14-year-old. Spirit Lake Police arrested him at his home without incident on Dec. 6 after conducting an investigation.

Herbst is being held on bond with $50,000 for each felony charge in Boundary County.
