Girls varsity beats Lake City JV by 1

| January 11, 2013 8:14 AM

Bonners Ferry Lady Badgers narrowly beat Lake City JV 40-39 on Jan. 5. Jasmine Hill hit a 12-footer in the lane with 19 seconds left, which proved to be the difference in the game.

“It was a close game the whole way which should help our composure and winning it should give us some confidence in our next close game,” said coach Travis Hinthorn. “We are playing harder and more physical and that is what we need.”

Lake City JV beat Bonners Ferry 56-46 earlier in the season.

“We are a smarter team than when we played them earlier in the season and our defense is getting more physical and tighter down low,” said Hinthorn. “Holding them to two points in the third quarter is an example of that. We still need to contest and pressure outside shots a little better. That will come.”

Scoring was led by Savannah Woods with 12 points, four rebounds, and four steals and Aubree Wasmer with seven points and seven rebounds.
