BONNERS FERRY — Boundary County School District officials have a strong lead in who the suspect a bomb threat made this week, said Supt. Richard Conley.

On Tuesday, Jan. 15, Boundary County Middle School was evacuated because of a bomb threat found in a bathroom near 1 p.m.

Several notes were written in the girl’s bathroom indicating a threat, but no specific time was given.

Students were evacuated to the high school and all available resources in the county responded to the incident.

“The staff do an excellent job of getting the students to a safe place,” said middle school principal Dick Behrens. “The building was cleared in five minutes.”

A new surveillance system at the middle school enabled the authorities to quickly do a thorough investigation, according to Behrens.

This is the fifth bomb threat this school year.
