Lady Badgers score league win

| January 25, 2013 8:00 AM

The Lady Badgers earned a league win over the Wildcats after losing to them at Kellogg earlier this year. On Jan. 19, the Lady Badgers came back and won 50-39.

“Down there we shot 11 percent in the second half. We had much better offensive efficiency this time,” said coach Travis Hinthorn.

The Badgers once again had a balanced scoring attack with Savannah Woods scoring six points, 10 rebounds and three blocks; Kendra Merritt scoring nine points and seven rebounds; and Aubree Wasmer scoring eight points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Senior Ally Merrifield had a season high of eight points and freshman Kerstin Oxford scored five of her six points in the fourth quarter.

“We recently beat two teams we lost to earlier in the season to Lake City JV and Kellogg. Hopefully, we can keep that streak going against Priest River,” said Hinthorn.

The Badgers lost 36-35 at Priest River earlier this season.

Badgers now have a 12-4 record and play Priest River at home on Thursday.
