A private memorial service will be held for family members in St. Louis on July 4, 2013.

He was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Nov. 16, 1946, the son of the late Joseph F. Wittgenstein and Hazel Mothershead Wittgenstein.

He was the beloved husband for three years of Michele Abrams; adored father of Julie (Edward) Hubbell and Amy (Matthew) Kraft; dearest grandfather of Elaina, Emma, Ethan Hubbell, Lucy and Henry Kraft; dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Gary graduated from St. John Vianney High School, Kirkwood, Mo., and earned a business administration degree from Washington University - St. Louis and began his 41-year career at Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. by loading starch bags in railcars and retired as director of operations, North American Hops, Busch Agricultural Resources, Inc., Elk Mountain Farm in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, memorial masses or gifts to American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
