The Hall Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary put on a great parade and potluck.

Our fireman showed their support for the 19 fallen firefighters and their families in Arizona.

Through out the year, they participate in many community events. We need to remember the risk our men and women incur to assist us.

U.S. Customs was very cooperative in maintaining traffic along the border. All motorists were welcome in the parade. American Legion Club 55 carried the US and British Columbia flags. Grand Marshal Punk and Joyce Johnson of Porthill Loop were followed by nine previous grand marshals, also honored were three deceased marshals: Sam Loporto, Eric Christenson and Evan Gatherers.

Many new participants including the Moyie and Creston Shrine Club were in the parade. Thanks to Julia and her kids and Patrice, we had horses.

More than 150 people attended the potluck at Fire Hall #3. What a great time seeing neighbors and friends from Eastport, Copeland, Porthill, Paradise Valley, Naples, Moyie Springs, and British Columbia. Even a few cross country bicyclists stopped in. Lots of yummy side dishes and desserts filled our tummys.

The hamburgers were cooked by Ray and Beth Holmes of the Wild Horse Mercantile. Their secret spice is still a secret.

Beth and Ray were also in the parade in what I call a motorized bar stool.

Thank you to all volunteers who helped in making this a successful community adventure. See you next year.
