Yankees play hard at nations; end 1-3

Going into the last first round game, the Bonners Ferry Yankees had a 1-2 record at the Western Regional Championships in Irvine, Calif.
The Yankees lost their first two games against California (12-3) and Arizona (16-1) but regained momentum during their game against Oregon on Sunday, winning 13-4.
The Yankee’s lost their last game against Hawaii 22-4 but did better than any other team who played Hawaii. California lost 18-2 against Hawaii, Arizona lost 7-3 and Oregon lost 19-1.
Winning all four games in the first pool, Hawaii Little League will continue to the next round on Thursday, July 25.
