Do You Remember

| June 7, 2013 9:00 AM

It will be flag day soon

Your Boundary County Historical Society and Museum, 7229 Main, Bonners Ferry, Idaho sponsors this column.

During the summer, the Museum is open Tuesday thru Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To help maintain the buildings, a small entrance fee is now being charged. It is $2 per person or $5 per family. There is no charge for Boundary County Historical Society members.

Flag Day is coming up on June 1. With this in mind, The Valley Studio brings you this week’s picture. Do you know who any of these people are and where they are? If you know the answer, all or part, please email doyouremember@meadowcrk.com. Include your answer, name, and telephone number, in case we have questions. If you want to remain anonymous, just let us know.

Last week’s picture was of Charlie Thurman with his car on the North Hill. It is thought the car is from the late 1920’s or early 1930’s. The model of car had everyone stumped, even the Rod Benders’ Gene Andrews did notice that the car had a motor minder on the radiator. This is a temperature gauge that could be seen by the driver.

Back to the picture of the American Legion members at Grandview Cemetery, Robert Howard, from Oklahoma, recognized his father Les Howard standing fourth from the left. He states, “This was a Memorial Day observation and dad was chairman for many years before yielding the reins to George Kalb.” Les Howard is also the father of Virginia Weller.

Things are always changing at the museum. To find out what is happening, bookmark the events page on our website www.bonnersferrymuseum.org

Hope to see you soon!
