Change needed with school district
Tuesday March 12 will be an election for another $1.4 million property tax levy for two years, that totals $2.8 million. Currently the state public schools get about half of the total state budget, the local schools get their portion of that, as well as about half of the total property taxes.
The schools’ budget is close to $10 million while the current enrollment is less than it was 45 years ago. The budget back then was 1200 percent less, in comparison to gas prices at the same time, with the same increase, we would be paying 25-30 dollars a gallon today.
The government schools, true to their bureaucratic nature, employ nearly twice the number of people. The certified staff cost the taxpayers about $62,000 per teacher, which includes health and retirement for a 161-day contract. Let’s not forget, the summer and holidays off. They can cut 25 certified staff and save more than they are demanding from the property owners, while at the same time have more teachers, way more noncertified staff and less students than they had 40 some years ago. The money is not for the kids.
The schools have not only failed economically, but have failed miserably to teach good education. Not only does the U.S. go down compared to other nations in academics, but the national education association uses the schools to further their political agenda in America. They promote the agenda of “political correctness” which include; the gay agenda, gun control, global warming and the green agenda, the theory of evolution that denies God as well as a general anti-Christian philosophy. Is it any wonder we have shooting and bomb threats at the government schools.
Abraham Lincoln said, “The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.” If you do not know what the schools have been pushing upon the students for years just take a look at the philosophy of the new government.
Please vote no on March 12. It is time for a serious change.
