Badger C team ends season with win

The Bonners Ferry boys C-team won its third straight game to wrap up the season, ousting the Priest River Spartans 55 – 49 on Feb. 14.

The Badgers trailed 8 to 17 at the end of the first quarter, but slowly chipped away at the deficit during the second and third before outscoring the Spartans 23 to 11 in the final frame.

Caleb Blackmore led a balanced Badgers scoring attack with 12 points while Kyle Pintler and Triston Howell added nine apiece and Tanner Liermann and Jason Shutes contributed eight each.

The young Badger team showed improvement throughout the season. After a 2-3 start the Badgers won seven of their last eight games to end the campaign 4-0 in league play and 9-4 overall.

The Badgers C-team consisted of Triston Howell, Warren Carle, Eduardo Perez, Davis Merrifield, Chris English, Tanner Liermann, Jason Shutes, Caleb Blackmore, Bradly Byers, and Kyle Pintler.
