BONNERS FERRY — From three pounds to 203 pounds, pets are pampered at Doggy Doo dog and cat grooming.

At Doggy Doo, pets can have a bath, hair cut, nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing and anal gland squeezing.

Shaya Churchill does it all at her new location downtown with her apprentice, Amber Parker. Even bathing dogs in a special mixture after a skunk encounter.

“I outgrew the space and had to get someplace bigger,” said Churchill about her location in Moyie Springs where she partnered with Selkirk Kennels.

The new space offers plenty of room for large dogs and multiple animals.

A separate back room provides a place to bathe, brush and blow dry the pets. If a blow dryer frightens the animal, Churchill places it in a kennel with a light breeze blowing on it.

“Every single one is different,” said Churchill.

Dog and cat grooming comes naturally to Churchill.

She helped her aunt in the summers at her dog grooming business in Arizona.

Now, Churchill has been licensed by the State of Idaho for five years.

With consistent customers, she gets to know the pets and their individual needs.

“We have fun and stay busy,” said Parker, who has been working with Churchill for almost eight months.
