Seventh bomb threat made in school district
Students were evacuated from Bonners Ferry High School on Monday, March 4 after a bomb threat was found.
On Thursday, authorities also investigated a report of an eighth threat.
The March 4 message was found in the boy’s bathroom and was reported at 1:25 p.m. All available units responded.
With students out to lunch, staff waited to gather all the students back into classrooms before evacuating the school, said Supt. Richard Conley.
To curtail the bomb threats and to narrow down the suspects, bathroom monitors are stationed outside of two sets of bathrooms and students are required to sign in and out of class to use the restrooms.
High school administrators and law enforcement are investigating the situation.
The BCSD Board of Trustees met with the BFHS Student Council last week to gain input on how to curtail the bomb threats. No decision has been made yet but Conley believes something will come from the discussion.
This is the seventh bomb threat this school year.
