| May 10, 2013 10:57 AM

BONNERS FERRY —Help fight hunger locally and globally by participating in the CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk.

The Bonners Ferry CROP Hunger Walk will be Saturday, June 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bonners Ferry High School track.

Seventy-five percent of the funds raised go to the world-wide hunger relief organization, Church World Service. Twenty-five percent of the funds go the food bank at Boundary County Community Action Partnership.

Last year, more $8,400 was raised to fight hunger locally and world-wide. Community Action Partnership received $2,100 to aid fellow Bonners Ferry residents in need.

To participate, donation envelopes can be obtained from Larry Nelson, Recruiter Leader, at 267-2175 or Judy Dirks, event coordinator, 267-3859.

Participants can walk for an organization, church, business, family, or as an individual. Walkers can be any age but anyone under 18 must have their registration form signed by a parent or guardian before participating in the CROP Walk at the track.
