Community Health Fair this weekend at BCH
Health, at one time or another, becomes a major interest in our lives. “Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made” is more than a quote; it is a truth we discover as we live our lives.
Occasionally, one can get a step ahead of health issues by learning about them and taking a few proactive measures. Boundary Community Hospital is providing a Health Fair for Boundary County residents to come and learn about health issues.
“We are all in the same boat,” said Marcia Morman, Boundary Community Hospital’s community relations coordinator.
“We all live in bodies. Outside of the medical profession, most of us have not had extensive training in health.
Picking up a few pointers about health care may end up making a huge difference in our life or in the life of someone we care about.”
The Health Fair is Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. There is no admission fee.
There will be 50 booths at the fair, including the Med-Star helicopter and the MRI machine that can be examined close up.
For the kids, the Bike Rodeo has helmet fitting instructions and a free helmet (up to 50 will be given away) from Boundary Community Hospital, and a bike tune-up by Far North Outfitters.
Parents need to accompany their children.
The Fun Run is free and includes three races: a 3, 5, and 10K. Modifications made to the 10K course ensure variety throughout the route. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the races begin at 8 a.m.
Pre-register by emailing marcia.m@bcch.org and requesting a registration form, or by filling in a registration form at the Outpatient Desk at Boundary Community Hospital.
The first 60 people who register receive a free T-shirt.
There is a FAQs sheet posted on boundaryhospital.org, which gives quite a bit of information about the races.
