Evan Miles Gatherers

Evan Miles Gatherers, 53, passed away on Dec. 28, 2012, at his home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

A remembrance gathering for Evan’s family and friends will be held at Evan’s home on Saturday, May 25 at 2 p.m. It will be a potluck meal so bring a dish.

Evan was born on Nov. 11, 1959, in Spokane, Wash., to Walter and Valerie Gatherers.

Evan’s family moved to Eastport in 1960 and completed all his schooling in Bonners Ferry.

After high school graduation Evan moved to Wyoming and worked in the oil fields. While there he met Rebecca Heckert. Evan and Rebecca were married in Eastport in 1982 and then returned to Wyoming.

They had two children, Jamey and April. They later divorced. In 1986 Evan returned to Eastport and met Dee Ann Parr. They were together 26 years before Dee passed away in November 2012. They had one child, Christine.

Evan was an all around good guy. He was considerate, optimistic and had a good heart. He had a gift for building and fixing things. Evan enjoyed his life and everyone in it. He was easy going and lived in the moment. Nothing much ever ruffled his feathers. He was always there to help anyone in need.

Evan loved living in the North Idaho wilderness, where he could hunt, fish and cruise the back woods. He loved his family very much and cherished all his friends.

Evan is survived by two daughters, April Gatherers and Christine Gatherers; one son,Jamey Gatherers; two grandsons, Tyler and Brodie; his brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Caroline Gatherers; his mother and stepfather, Valerie and Randy Fry; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Evan was preceded in death by his wife, Dee Ann Parr; his father, Walter Gatherers; and his brother, Larry Gatherers.
