Care-N-Share gears up

| November 8, 2013 8:00 AM

Thirty-one years ago Care-N-Share started to help the children of Boundary County at Christmas time. The program gives clothing and toys to local children.

Linda Lederhos, the program director, is projecting the need this year will be much greater than previous years with the economy the way it is.

Care-N-Share applications are available at the Panhandle Health Clinic and the Bamboo Room Craft Store north of Bonners Ferry.

If you are in need or know someone that is in need, please call or stop by to pick up an application. Applications are due by Thursday, Nov. 28.

If you wish to sponsor a family or child, call Linda at 290-1483. Donations can be mailed to Care-N-Share 515014 Hwy 95 Bonners Ferry, Idaho 83805 or dropped off at Wells Fargo Bank.

In the past, several businesses have opted not to have a personal gift exchange and instead have collected toys for the program which is a way to feel good and help the children at the same time explained Lederhos.

The program is in need of new and good, used toys. Toys can be dropped off at Wells Fargo Bank or Mountain West Bank.

“The need last year was great but this year, I think we may have the highest need yet,” said Lederhos.
