Get ready...Idaho Family Reading Week is Nov. 18-21. Valley View Elementary has a full week of activities planned to get your family reading- just “Imagine the Fun at your Library!”

Imagination is the theme this year.

The Valley View Library will be decorated to inspire your mind and the activities are geared to make you jump into a book.

On Monday, Nov. 18, Principal Pflueger and Mystery Readers will read stories in each classroom.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, Karen Standall, noted storyteller, will host two assemblies: one from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m. for kindergarten through second grade and the second from 3 to 3:30 p.m. for third through fifth grade.

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the high school drama class, hosted by Mr. Carpenter, will present dramatic readings in each class during the morning hours.

On Thursday, Nov. 21, the entire school is hosting pajama day. Students can dress in their pajamas and invite their parents to come read with their classroom.

Parents need to talk with the teacher to determine the best time. The PTO will be making and delivering popcorn to the children during the afternoon.

Idaho Family Reading Week is sponsored by the Idaho Commission for Libraries and coordinated at Valley View Elementary by the librarians and Debbie Paul, AmeriCorps Idaho Read! Vista Leader.
