Verla Jean Rodriguez, 70

Verla Jean Rodriguez, 70, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at Kootenai Heath in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Services will be at 11 am on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Denver, Colo.

Verla was born on Dec.1, 1942 in Leavenworth, Kan., to Verlin and Mary Crecelius. She grew up and attended schools in Denver. On Feb. 26, 1966, Verla married Paul Wayne Rodriguez.

While living in Denver, Verla loved to attend Bronco football games and she volunteered at Saint Anthony’s Clothing Bank in Denver. On March 25, 2003, Verla moved to Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho, to be closer to her daughter, Robin.

Verla had a strong faith and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Throughout her life she loved chihuahuas and had several as pets.

She enjoyed yellow roses, word search puzzles, playing bingo, and talking with her long time dear friends Fay Frey and Liz Cowan. With Wayne she enjoyed eating out at new restaurants, and collecting aluminum cans on their walks.

She is survived by her daughter Robin (John) Ivy of Sandpoint, Idaho; two brothers, Verlin Crecelius II of Aurora, Colo., and Michael Crecelius of Pueblo, Colo.; sister Patricia Jochim of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren Jason and Brooke Bailey; one great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Rick Epps.
