Shanna Mae (Jay) McNall, 40, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A celebration of Shanna’s life will be held at a later date.

Shanna was born on Dec. 6, 1972, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Jerry and Margot Jay. She grew up in Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

She enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball and was a cheerleader while going to Bonners Ferry High School, Shanna graduated in 1991.

Shanna moved back to Sandpoint, where she worked at Dub’s Drive-in. She married Aaron McNall on April 19, 1997, in Sandpoint. She worked for various companies — Columbia Paints, Horizon Credit Union, Lippert Heavy Equipment and later for Peak Sand and Gravel.

Shanna enjoyed gardening, rodeos, horses, hunting, four wheeling, playing bunko and bingo, spending time with family and her cats, an occasional “Duck Dynasty” or “Criminal Minds” program, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her daughter Madison.

She also volunteered at Timber Fest, Draft Horse Show, rodeos, horse shows, and other events around Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry. She was beautiful inside and out, strong willed, compassionate, and spoke her mind with a smile on her face. She was also known for her sarcasm and quick witted remarks.

Shanna is survived by her husband, Aaron McNall, and daughter Madison, and her parents, Jerry (Phyllis) Jay, all of Sandpoint; six siblings, James (Shawna) Williams of Lewistown, Mont., Kevin Jay of Sandpoint, Jim Jay of Crosby, N.D., Jennifer Hammel of Northfield, Minn., Eric (Christine) Arnold of Post Falls, Idaho, and Ron Jay of Sandpoint; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including her first-born nephew, Jake Williams of Sandpoint; and two sisters-in-law Michelle (Richard) Morasch and Kelly Williams.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margot Jay in 1998; a brother, Wayne Williams in 2012; a niece, Kaitlyn Lee Price Williams; and her uncles, Alan McNall and John Meredith.
