BONNERS FERRY — State School Superintendent Tom Luna is speaking on the new Idaho Common Core Standards in November.
With controversy over the new education standards, the Boundary County Republican Central Committee invited Superintendent Luna to speak at their Nov. 4 meeting at 6 p.m.
The meeting is at the Kootenai River Inn’s large meeting room. Superintendent Luna will explain the Common Core curriculum after a short business meeting by elected officials. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.
Local school board members and superintendent have also been invited.
The meeting is open to the public and anyone with an interest in Common Core Standards is welcome to attend.
