Danette Jean Vaughn, 45

Danette Jean Vaughn, 45, died on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident in rural Moyie Springs, Idaho.

A celebration of life will be held the Alaska Native Heritage Center’s, Athabaskan Ceremonial House, on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, from 6–8 p.m.

Danette was born on Nov. 11, 1967, in Ketchikan, Alaska, and lived most of her life in Anchorage, Alaska. She moved to Idaho in 2012.

Danette enjoyed riding her Harley, native dancing with Lepquinm Gumiligit Gagoadim,dipnetting for fish on the Kenai and took much pleasure in the last few months of her life on an Idaho farm with her beloved Jeff Taylor.

Danette is survived by her daughter, Ashley Vaughn-Robinson of Unalaska, Alaska; two of her three brothers, Franklin Vaughn and Frederick Walker Jr. and wife Kathleen all of Anchorage, Alaska; Kenneth Christenson of Wyoming and one sister, Donna Christenson of Dallas, Texas, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Anne Nathan; her father, Robert Jean Vaughn; and her brother, Justin Craig McGriff.
