Badgers beat Kellogg during a rainy game

The Bonners Ferry Badgers improved their overall record to 4 – 3 with a decisive 10 – 0 win over the Kellogg Wildcats in the rain shortened Bonners Ferry Tournament last weekend.

Saturday games were canceled due to weather.

The Badgers scored two runs in the first and exploded for six more in the second inning, handing the Wildcats a 10 - 0 defeat that ended in the fifth inning.

Sophomore pitcher Dylan Unruh improved his record to 2-0 with a four inning, five strike-out, one-hit performance. Senior Connor Bennett came in relief in the 5th inning to secure to shutout.

The Badgers were led by junior Shay Garcia who hit a two run single in the second inning. Vince Bennett and Kevin Gray each got hits in the win.

The Badgers play a home game against Newport this Tuesday at 4 p.m. and then start league at home against Priest River on Saturday, April 12 with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
