Winona “Winnie” Christine Hill, 92

Winona “Winnie” Christine Hill, 92, kind and gracious mother, grandmother, and friend was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, April 6, 2014.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 14 at 11 a.m. at The First Baptist Church, 327 “C” St. S.W., Ephrata.

Winnie was born Aug. 6, 1921, to Perry and Pearl Everhart in Beaver City, Neb. At a young age, her family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where she graduated high school. In November 1941, she married Donald E. Hill, also of Bonners Ferry.

In 1946, they moved to Soap Lake, then to Moses Lake in 1948 and finally to Ephrata in 1949 with their three children.

Winnie worked at People’s National Bank in Ephrata for 18 years, retiring in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, in 2002. Winnie is survived by a brother, Marvin Everhart; three children, Marva Jo (Mike) Vance, Steve (Sandy) Hill, and Nancy (Larry) Young; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
