| August 1, 2014 10:43 AM

BONNERS FERRY – The mountains of North Idaho contain a wide array of spectacular hiking trails, lakes and bike trails and the Idaho Conservation League wants to make sure you have the opportunity to get out and explore them.

For eight years in a row, the Idaho Conservation League (ICL) has offered an annual hiking series in North Idaho.

This year’s series also includes kayaking trips, an overnight backpack and a mountain bike ride. With more than 13 excursions planned for this summer and fall, there is something for everyone’s interest and ability.

Featured outings include a day of geocaching for treasure seekers of all ages, difficult scrambles across the Selkirk Crest, an afternoon hike and picnic on Mickinnick, and kayak tours of Upper Priest Lake and the Clark Fork and Pack River Deltas.

Whether you are new or native to the Panhandle, ICL’s Adventure Series is a great way to explore and gain appreciation for Idaho’s spectacular peaks, lakes, streams and wildlife.

Other outings include family friendly hikes to stunning alpine lakes, strenuous day hikes to our highest peaks, and a mountain bike ride lead by volunteers from the Kaniksu Land Trust and Pend Oreille Pedalers.

Space is limited and registration is required for the free-of-charge excursions.

To sign up for a hike, kayak trip or bike ride, or for more information, visit www.idahoconservation.org or contact the Idaho Conservation League’s Sandpoint office at (208) 265-9565.
