Farm vote a violation of 10th Amendment

| August 29, 2014 9:00 AM

In the Aug. 21 issue of the Bonners Ferry Herald Congressman Labrador was quoted as saying “It’s not just the Second Amendment we believe in, we also believe in the first, third, fourth and fifth amendments.”

Well, what about the 10th? And wasn’t your vote for HR 2642 reauthorizing federal farm and nutrition programs, including crop subsidies, food stamps, and government land grabs (known as conservation easements) a flagrant violation of the 10th amendment? The cost of this legislation is $956 billion; $756 billion of this is for food stamps.

I commend you for your otherwise constitutional voting record. In the latest Freedom Index, as reported in the New American magazine, you earned a score of 90 percent. It should have been 100 percent.

Congressman Simpson, as well as Senators Risch and Crapo also voted for this monstrous piece of un-constitutional legislation.
