| December 19, 2014 6:09 AM

BONNERS FERRY — While most residents of Boundary County were enjoying a turkey dinner with family, Adam Hall celebrated Thanksgiving with a trip to Jouybar, Iran, for the 2014 World Wrestling Clubs Cup.

Hall will return to Boundary County next week to host a wrestling clinic for anyone interested in improving their skills.

Hall represented the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC) and the United States at 70 kg (154 lbs.) for the World Wrestling Clubs Cup. He wrestled in Pool B, which consisted of TMWC, Syria Arabic Army, Gaz Mazandaran Iran, and Azerbaijan.

In the first match, TMWC won 8-0 and Hall won by tech fall 14-4 against Hasan Jemari Mohammad of Syria. The second match, TMWC won 4-4 on criteria and Hall won by decision, 11-4 versus Morteza Goudarzi of Iran. Following a win for TMWC 6-2 and a win by forfeit for Hall in the match with Azerbaijan, TMWC wrestled China, the winner of Pool D in the Semifinals.

TMWC scored a shut-out 8-0, and Hall won by tech fall, 10-0 against Lin Hai Wei. This set up the finals match with the winner of Pool A, the hometown team of Bimeh Razi Jouybar of Iran. TMWC fell 2-6, with Hall losing to two-time World Champion Mehdi Taghavi, 3-0. Gold medal team prize was $25,000 for Bimeh Razi Jouybar (Iran A), silver medal was $15,000 to TMWC, and bronze medal prize of $10,000 went to Shoraye Shahr Karaj (Iran B).

Hall will be at Bonners Ferry High School on Monday, Dec. 22 for a wrestling clinic from 9 a.m. to noon. Any wrestler interested in improving their skills can attend this clinic. For more information, contact Linda Hall at Bonners Ferry High School, 267-3149.
