Alice Melior Chappell, 69

Alice Melior Chappell, 69, died on Feb. 18, 2014, at Northwest Hospital in Shoreline, Wash.A celebration of Life will be held in May at the home of Terrie Weber.

Alice was born July 24, 1944, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Wallace and Winifred Melior. She was among the youngest of eight children.She attended Bonners Ferry High School where her love of dance, music and fast cars led her to meet and marry Jim Chappell. The couple had two girls, Terrie and Toni, who became the light and love of her life.

She continued for many years in the family line of business in both greenhouse and floral. She enjoyed her career as a pharmacy technician where she worked through her retirement in 2008.Her rural upbringing set the foundation for a love of the outdoors. Rafting, fishing, and camping were a big part of the family life, which has run through three generations. She loved to travel and the chance to travel to exotic lands. Among her favorites were Spain, Bermuda, Mexico and Africa. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and gambling.

Alice drew joy from family and friends old and new. She was quick to bake a pie or do a favor for anyone in need. So very sweet and loving, she is fondly remembered by all those she met.She is survived by her daughters, Terrie Weber (Mark D’Agostino) and Toni Fulcher (Scott); sisters, Elaine Cooper, Patty Wilkie and Helen Siver; brothers, Walter and Roger; grandchildren Carson Fulcher, Krista, Megan, and Nicholas Weber; and great grand-children Preston and Lyric Weber.

She was preceded in death by husband Jim Chappell, parents, Wally and Winnie, sister Janet Ritz, and brother Phil Melior.
