Clifford Andrew 'Cliff' Clifton, 86

Clifford Andrew ‘Cliff’ Clifton, 86, passed away at his home near Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on Dec. 29, 2013.

Services were held on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Bridgeway Assembly Of God Church near Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Interment will be in the Washington Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, Wash.

Cliff was born in Ardmore, Okla., to Marion Andrew Clifton and Thelma Maude Yarnell on April 24, 1927. He married Wanda Dill on Oct. 17, 1970.

Cliff worked at Pittsburg steel for more than 40 years, retired in 1989. Cliff and Wanda loved camping, Cliff loved fishing, hunting, boating, and every year he would have a wonderful garden. Cliff was an outdoor person, you could always find him in the yard pruning trees, weeding, etc.

Wanda said “He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and they had many years of traveling the country together and Cliff never met a stranger.”

Cliff was a veteran of the United States Army, enlisted on Sept. 27, 1950, active duty for two years, and in the reserves until 1956. He was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, where he was a chauffeur for the Colonel.

Surviving him is his wife of 43 years, Wanda, of Bonners Ferry; their daughter Melissa Wolf, of Chiloquin, Ore., Tammy Henshaw of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Other step children include two sons and a daughter. They have several grand children and great grand children. Cliffs surviving siblings, are two brothers and five sisters.
