Richard 'Dick' Butterfield, 68

Richard “Dick” Butterfield, 68, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, passed away July 5, 2014, at Life Care Center in Sandpoint, Idaho, at the age of 68 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia with Lewy Bodies.

He was surrounded by his family as he departed this world into eternal rest. He had the best smile and sense of humor that will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Private celebration of his life will be held at a later time.

Richard was employed by Western Electric where he medically retired after 35 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard in South Dakota and California. He also was a volunteer with the Atascadero Police Department Volunteer program in Atascadero, Calif.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Butterfield of South Dakota.

He is survived by his wife, Joy; daughters Rebecca Randall (Clint), Rhonda Rantz (Mark) and Robin Stephens (Richard).

Survivors also include by his grandchildren: Kyle and Jacob Rantz; Erin and Troy Randall; Nickolas and Addison Stephens.

Also, surviving him are his mother, Fern Butterfield, brother Jim; sisters Barbara, Cheryl, Peggy and Wendy of South Dakota and sister Marcella of Colorado.
