JoAnne LoPorto

| July 24, 2014 7:33 AM

JoAnne LoPorto passed away quietly in the Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on July 18, 2014.

Private arrangements will be held.

JoAnne was born on April 18, 1926, in Santa Ana, Calif., to Calvin and Gertrude McClung. She was the oldest of five sisters.

She met Sam the Love of her life in 1945. They were married almost 65 years.

She felt blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. JoAnne and Sam moved to Bonners Ferry in 1980 here they found a piece of heaven on earth, and with hard work they created a beautiful place for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren.

She was a prolific quilter and made many many heirlooms for her family and friends.

She was a strong believer who greatly influenced her family. She enjoyed her church family until travel became too difficult.

JoAnne missed Sam deeply. He had passed away several years before. When she voiced her desire to be with Sam, she was told that she could not go yet because Jesus had not finished her mansion. In true “JoAnne” form, she said “Then I’m Moving in with your father.”

God listened and she passed with peace and dignity to her Lord’s care, surrounded by family and friends.

Those wishing to express condolence with a gift are asked to donate to one her favorite charities: either Union Gospel Mission of Spokane, or Samaritan’s Purse.

Family and friends are invited to sign JoAnne’s book at www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
