Tala Arella Thompson
Tala Arella Thompson passed away on July 11, 2014, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash.
A celebration of two lives will be Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 4 p.m. at the Montana Stateline House with a potluck barbecue.
Please bring only happy thoughts. Tala (Native American name Wolf) Arella (meaning “Angel Messenger”) was a “special delivery” on Oct. 24, 2003, for Rodney Eugene Thompson and Richelle Rhea Rode with only an 11-day notice of her arrival.
Tala was born a preemie and born with many obstacles ahead of her. She spent her first months in Deaconess NICU until that special day they were able to bring her home to Bonners Ferry.
Tala’s life was full of challenges to quote on NICU Physician “I might as well face it daughter will never walk, talk, or be able to eat. Guess what — Tala succeeded with those challenges and showed our world “look at me.”
Tala left our world to chase butterflies in heaven; she is now pain free, and she’s laughing and running. She is now with her papa and cousin Jimmer Rode.
Her memories are left behind to keep her MaMa, Richelle Rode of Bonners Ferry, strong.
Tala has touched so many hearts throughout. She so loved by her parents, her great friends, her wonderful caregivers Tonya Childress, Bonnie Collins and Freda Kelly; her extended family who are the staff at Boundary Community Hospital; special friend Geri Garten, her physician Dr. George DeLand, all whom she loved dearly. Special thanks for the great care by the Boundary Volunteer Ambulance crew, Boundary Hospital Emergency Dept. team, Med Star and the staff at Providence/Sacred Heart’s Children’s Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to sign Tala’s book at www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
