Badger football working hard

BONNERS FERRY — We are about three weeks away from the Aug. 11 starting date for the 2014 Badger football season. A solid group of guys have been pretty consistent in the weight room.

As we close in on the start of the season, we have been handing out equipment to those who have been coming so that we can hit the ground running on Monday, August 11.

A couple of important dates that need to be put on the calendar are:

• Monday, Aug. 4: Mandatory player/parent meeting. BFHS Commons 6:30 p.m.

Please bring a pen and/or pencil to fill out paperwork. There are several forms that must be completed, including: Insurance, Code of Conduct, Emergency Contact Information, etc.

Insurance is required. If you need to purchase school insurance, there will be information available. There will be samples of girdles and practice pants available for purchase.

• Tuesday, Aug. 5: Free physicals at the Hospital from 5 to 7 p.m.

Physicals are required of all freshmen, juniors, and any player who did not have a physical last year.

• Monday, Aug. 4: Seniors and juniors equipment pick-up: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Tuesday, Aug. 5: Sophomores equipment pick-up: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Wednesday, Aug. 6: Freshmen equipment pick-up: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Due the numbers of players involved in the Boundary County Fair during the first week of practice, we will have meetings and conditioning from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.

Friday’s practice will be determined based on the fair schedule requirements.
