BONNERS FERRY — Debbie McCann-Davis has been practicing skin care for the past 14 years.

After spending the last seven years working out of the Coldwater Creek corporate headquarters in Sandpoint, McCann-Davis has opened Oo La La Skin Boutique at 6414 Kootenai Street in Bonners Ferry, between KBFI and the American Legion.

McCann-Davis is accepting clients by appointment only, so each client can receive the privacy of one-on-one time.

“The whole concept behind my business is the ‘look good, feel good’ program,” she says. “When a client walks out of my office feeling better about themselves with a smile on their face, my job is done.”

Services offered at Oo La La Skin Boutique include organic facials, microdermabrasion, acne skin care, organic spray tans, eyelash extensions and waxing. McCann-Davis will be adding eyelash perms and semi-permanent mascara to her menu soon.

McCann-Davis received her license at the Colorado School of Paramedical Esthetics in 1999.

She also received her certificate as a beauty nutritionist while contracting out of Coldwater Creek.

“Skin care is about 50 percent genetics and 50 percent lifestyle,” she says. “Exercise, food choices, sun exposure, drinking and smoking all play a huge role in our outer appearance. Inflammation is the key, and almost all these factors increase inflammation in our bodies.”

According to McCann-Davis, a diet rich in vibrant colored fruits and vegetables can help reduce inflammation and can greatly reduce aches, pains, diseases and aging.

“A person can easily add ten years to their age, inside and out by not making healthy choices,” she says.

Oo La La Skin Boutique uses many organic beauty products. McCann-Davis uses a product line for facials called Eminence Organic Skin Care.

“Eminence is an award-winning organic line from Hungary,” she says. “The products are made solely with organic fruit pulps, seeds, vegetables, herbs and minerals

. They do not use heat to process their products so the vitamins and minerals remain with their healing and regenerative powers.”

Aviva Organic Spray Tans have also been added to the menu to help customers avoid skin damage from overexposure to the sun.

“Everyone feels a little better with some color on their skin and spray tanning is the healthiest choice,” McCann-Davis says.

Aviva is an all-natural line using no chemicals, alcohol or added fragrances, making it ideal for even the most sensitive skin, McCann-Davis says. Aviva offers different shades for different skin types, instead of one solution for everyone.

“I would not use the same solution for a fair-skinned redhead as I would for a dark-haired olive skin tone individual,” she says. “The orange streaky look is long gone due to advancements in technology. You will walk away with a nice warm, brown, beautiful and natural looking tan. The best part? No sun damage!”

In addition to the spray tans, eyelash extensions are another service Oo La La offers to give clients immediate results.

“The eyelash extensions give my clients an immediate eye lift, making this one of my most popular services,” McCann-Davis says.

“I love my job. It is the most gratifying work I have ever had and it is my passion,” McCann-Davis says.
