| June 6, 2014 6:46 AM

Are you registered in Boundary County’s biggest running race? For over 35 years, the Kootenai River Run has been attracting runners near and far. The Kootenai River Run attracted more than 230 participants last year and organizers expect this year to be even bigger. Come participate in this year’s race on Saturday, June 21.

The 5K (3.1 miles) and 10K (6.2 miles) races begin and end at the Boundary County fairgrounds and bring participants in and around Bonners Ferry. Aid stations are positioned throughout the course and at the finish line.

The overall male and female finisher in each run will be presented a locally crafted trophy. Ribbons will be given to the top three finishers in each of the male and female age groups from 0-11 years to 70 plus years. Door prizes will drawn during the award ceremony and the grand prize is a $100 gift certificate towards the purchase of a new pair of running shoes.

Entry fee is $20 ($24 Canadian) with an embroidered T-shirt or $10 ($12 Canadian) without the T-shirt. Registration by June 1 ensures availability of your T-shirt size. A limited number of extra shirts will be available on race day.
