Jeanette T. Steinhorst

Jeanette T. Steinhorst passed away on June 5, 2014 at the Boundary County Nursing Home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Interment will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Uticam N.Y.

Jean was born and raised in Utica, New York. She graduated from local schools and the Faxton School of Nursing during World War II. She married Robert Steinhorst Sr. (deceased in 1998) after the war. She worked at the Children’s Hospital as evening supervisor for more than 20 years and later for Faxton Hospital in Utilization and Quality Assurance. She was then appointed as the Director of Volunteer Services until retiring in 1985.

After retiring, Jean worked as Medical Director and Camp Nurse at the Masonic Home Camp at Round Lake N.Y. for seven summers.Jean moved to Bonners Ferry in 2013 to spend more time with family and friends.

She is survived by Rob and Sandy Steinhorst, Jaime, Sven and Axel Jensen, Kirk and Dani Steinhorst, Eric Steinhorst and many relatives and friends in northern New York State.
