Best yet: A real jammin' Borders 3 Jamboree

| June 19, 2014 7:33 AM

Classic cars filled Main Street in Bonners Ferry and overflowed into the Arizona street parking lot, down Bonner street and into the Larson’s Department Store parking lot June 7 for the 2014 Borders 3 Jamboree.

A record 206 cars were registered for the event, which brought cars from Idaho, Washington, Montana and Canada.

Partly cloudy skies held back the rain and kept temperatures in the mid-seventies for the hundreds of spectators that came out to enjoy the car show.

For sale signs graced a few windshields, so classic car dreamers had a chance to pick up a new project. American muscle dominated the show, followed closely by classic American hotrods and restorations.

Pickups were well-represented and a few unique ‘Rat-Rod’ style rides drew curious onlookers.

“The nice thing about a rat rod is that you don’t have to worry about the paint,” said one spectator.

“Yep, just a bucket of mop ‘n glow and you’re good,” said his friend.

The Rod Benders Car Club would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s show a success, especially Larson’s Department Store for the use of their parking lot.
