BONNERS FERRY — No bullrider was able to ride a full eight seconds Friday night, June 13 in Bonners Ferry for the Bulls of Terror event at the Boundary County Fairgrounds.

“The bulls were really rank,” said saddle club president Jesse Luther, who made three attempts on Friday. “They were bucking really hard. The ground was really good for them, too.”

Luther and partner Pat Murphy were able to win the team roping event. Everyone was a winner in the boot race, where kids from the audience tossed their boots into a pile in the center of the arena then raced to reacquire their own footwear.

“Just throw away those socks,” said the announcer.

Since no one had a qualified ride, some of the prize money went back to the Saddle Club and the rest went to the stock providers, Marty Wyatt, Pat Triplett and Mel Layton. The same bulls and many of the same riders arrived in Libby on Saturday night to repeat the performance - with the same results. The bulls won Saturday as well, with no rider making a qualified ride at that event.
