| June 20, 2014 12:30 PM

SANDPOINT — Looking for a good time and want to support our troops at the same time?

Then head on out to the annual Battle of the Bulls on Saturday at the Bonner County Fairgrounds.

The grand entry parade starts at 6:45 p.m. in the outdoor arena with the first bull bucking event at 7 p.m. In addition to bull riding events, there also will be barrel racing.

Veterans receive $2 off their ticket with identification.

In addition, there will be a barbecue and Dutch oven cooking contest at 2 p.m. with judging to follow at 4 p.m.

A dance will follow the Battle of the Bulls featuring the Devon Wade Band.

The fairgrounds is encouraging those attending to bring toiletries and other items to send to troops, including lip balm, body wash and liquid soap, hair gel, combs, deodorant (travel size), shaving cream, sun block, bug spray, mouthwash (travel size), eye drops and Tylenol, Motrin, Advil and aspirin packets.

Because some troops have allergies, name brand products are requested.
