Event supports Boundary Search and Rescue's dive team

| June 26, 2014 12:25 PM

The Boundary County Search and Rescue is taking registration for the third annual Hike and Bike on the Dike that will take place July 26 in conjunction with Kootenai River Days.

Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. with the challenge starting at 9 a.m. Two-person teams will tackle the approximately 10 mile course starting at the Search and Rescue building and following the dike road west to the wildlife refuge and back again.

One team member must run while the other rides a bicycle. Teams can switch places as often as they wish, however both team members must cross the finish line at the same time to complete the race. Last year’s event hosted 44 people in 22 teams.

Sponsors include Far North Outfitters, Litehouse, Inc. and Super 1 Foods. All proceeds support the Boundary Search and Dive Rescue Team.

Registration is $30 per team with tee-shirts, or $20 without.

Registration forms must be in by July 5 in order to receive a t-shirt. Mail registration to Boundary Search, P.O. Box 1274 Bonners Ferry, ID 83805. For more information, contact Rodd Owens at 267-3401 or e-mail layne_27@yahoo.com.
