Alice Lorean Miller, 71

Alice Lorean Miller, 71, of Bonners Ferry, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at her home.

A private family gathering will be held at a later time.

She was born July 23, 1943, in Sandpoint, Idaho, the daughter of Addison and Ruth Nickerson. She grew up on Grouse Creek, attended Farmin School and graduated Sandpoint High School. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in social science at Eastern Washington University.

She married George Miller on Feb. 26, 1960, in Sandpoint. In 1989 they moved to Bonners Ferry where together they worked at South Hill Lockers.

She was a member of the Sandpoint First Christian Church, a 4-H leader, and was deeply involved with animal rescue in Boundary County. She had a soft heart for rescued animals and riding horses.

Alice is survived by her beloved husband, George of Bonners Ferry; three children: Betty Jean Bunker of Ponderay, Idaho, Mary Ruth Rumple of Boise, Idaho and Dale James Miller, Boise; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
