Coffee lovers rejoice!

After a hiatus of north-of-town coffee stands, a new coffee stand is open just south of Three Mile corner.

Hayley Olson opened Homestead Coffee Co. on Oct. 1 in the parking lot of All Gussied Up. Olson wanted her coffee stand north of town but not at Three Mile corner where it is busy. Her location offers easy access off the highway and a spacious parking lot to turn around.

Olson, a 2009 BFHS graduate, has worked at other coffee stands for seven years — two years in Bonners Ferry and then five years in Coeur d’Alene.

“I decided I wanted my own,” said Olson. “Everyone likes good coffee.”

You’ll find regular drip coffee, lattes, espressos and blended coffee at Homestead Coffee Co. And for those who don’t like coffee, Olson offers a selection of non-coffee drinks including teas, fruit smoothies, hot chocolate, hot apple cider and Italian sodas.

For those willing to deviate from their favorite coffee, Olson offers a two-dollar daily special, such as her favorite--a white chocolate caramel latte.

For added convenience, Olson offers a selection of breakfast and lunch items including breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and oatmeal for breakfast and BLT’s, turkey melts and club sandwiches for lunch.

“I love it,” said Olson. “It’s fun. I like the interaction with people.”

Olson truly enjoys the interaction with her customers. But if you’re in a hurry, you can call ahead and she’ll have your order ready for pick-up with a smile. And if Olson doesn’t greet you at the window, her sister, Kari Olson, will be at the window with a smile.

Homestead Coffee Co. is open Monday thru Friday 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located at 32 David Thompson Drive (just south of the Log Inn). Homestead Coffee Co. can be reached at 208-946-6591 and on Facebook.
