Turkey Trot a 6-year-tradition

| November 21, 2014 8:00 AM

BONNERS FERRY — For the sixth year, intrepid trotters will turn out for the annual Bonners Ferry Turkey Trot 5k/10k Fun Run on Thanksgiving morning.

At 9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, the Boundary County Fairgrounds will once again be the site of the no-fee fundraiser and costumed fun run that features frozen turkey give-aways and beautiful Indian Corn decorations donated by “The Cornman” Jim Cadnum. Last year, more than 100 runners turned out for the event.

“It grows larger every year!” Says race organizer Carolyn Testa.

Participants can arrive early for turkey trivia and prizes, and an awesome music soundtrack pre- and post-race.

Runners are treated to free pumpkin pie slices and hot cocoa at the finish line and there will be a prize awarded for best racing costume!

“Just think... by 10 a.m. you’ll have earned your second helping for the day!” says Testa.

The race benefits the Boundary County Food Bank.

There is no registration fee, in order to enter just bring a non-perishable food donation for the Food Bank. For any questions, contact Carolyn Testa at 290-7039.
