Voter guide in mail

| October 10, 2014 9:00 AM

Boundary County residents are urged to watch for the 2014 Idaho Voters’ Pamphlet in their mail this coming week.

Idaho Secretary of State Ben Ysursa wants to remind voters that party registration requirements have no effect on General Election procedures. “My office has received several inquiries concerning the General Election and party affiliation.

Party affiliation does not apply to the general election and all voters will be able to vote for the candidates and issues of their choice, without regard to the political affiliation of the candidate or the voter.”

The Idaho Voters’ Pamphlet contains information on the proposed constitutional amendment that will appear on the general election ballot as HJR 2— The Idaho Voters’ Pamphlet is being mailed to 655,386 residences and Post Office boxes in Idaho.

The pamphlet contains the ballot question, the statement of meaning, purpose and result to be accomplished, as well as statements for and against the proposed amendment.

The statements for and against HJR 2 have been developed as prescribed by law by the Legislative Council.

Absentee ballots are available now from the counties and in-person absentee voting is available for voters who find it more convenient to vote early. Visit the County Clerk’s office at the Boundary County Courthouse to pick up an absentee form or find out more. More information is also available at www.idahovotes.gov

An audio version of the Idaho Voters’ Pamphlet is available online or Talking Book Service users can request the audio version from the Talking Book Service at (800) 458-3271.
