Sylvia L. Watson, 95

Sylvia L. Watson, 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at in Sturgis Regional Hospital.

Services were held at Blackhills National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

Sylvia was born July 23, 1919, in Turon, Kan., to Loren A. Sober and Margaret Dorothy Sober. She was the oldest of eight children. Sylvia grew up in Southeast Colorado on farms and ranches and graduated from high school in Crowley, Colorado.

On April 2, 1937, she married Ochard Watson. The couple lived n Crowley, Colorado until 1942 when they moved to Pleasanton, Calif., to raise their four children, Dora, Stella, Frank, and Jim.

Sylvia was very active in PTA, holding several offices, including president, as well as, Eastern Star and Rebekahs. She worked as a school cook while raising her children and later in life worked with her husband building and remodeling homes. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family.

In the past 50 years, Sylvia and Art spent a lot of time in Bonners Ferry and in that course of time made many, many life long friends.

In 1971, the couple moved to Upton, Wyo., and resided there until Ochard’s (Art’s) death. Subsequently moved to Sturgis, S. D.

She is survived by one sister, Lois McGonegal of Lathrop, Calif.; her four children and their spouses, Dora and Gene Brown of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Stella and Tom Zaro of Pleasanton, Calif., Frank and Kay Watson of Sturgis S.D., Jim and Chris Watson of Dayton, Nev.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews; and her adoptive family, Tom and LeAnn Sewell.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ochard (Art) Watson.
