Merle Dean Thompson

Merle Dean Thompson (77) passed away on November 28, 2015 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00am in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. 

 Burial Services will be held Dec 4 at 11:00 am at the Bonner’s Ferry Funeral Home.  Internment will be at Grand View Cemetery in Bonner’s Ferry.

 Merle was born September 1, 1938 to Averille and Ella Thompson of Cumberland Iowa.  He attended schools in Iowa and graduated from Valley High School in Nebraska, class of 1957.  He went on to the Nebraska School of Welding. 

 He spent 4 years in the US Air Force and met and married Mary K Burtner in 1963 in Tacoma Washington. Together they farmed in Iowa for 20 years, moved on to repair hospital and laboratory equipment.  They retired and moved to Bonner’s Ferry Idaho in 1999 where he enjoyed his woodworking and was known as the widgetmaker. 

 Merle was preceded in death his Father and his daughter Jo Lynn.

 He is survived by his Mother Ella Thompson, his brother Ron and his wife Linda, sisters in law Nancy (and Ken) and Pat (and Steve), daughters Julie, Janet (and Brett) and Jacki, grandchildren Katie, Bryan, Christy, Kayla, Nathan, Andrew and Ethan.

 A memorial service will be held at a later date.
