Badgers fall to Newport 54-47

The Badgers basketball team trailed Newport by just a point at the half Saturday, but were unable to make a run late, losing to the Grizzlies 54-47 at home.
Caleb Blackmore led all scorers with 24 points, while Bateman added 12. Kaleb Stockton rounded out the top three scorers for the Badgers with six points.
The Badgers travel to Sandpoint Friday for a matchup against the Bulldogs in the annual Moose Madness game. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
