Patricia May Breazile

| December 17, 2015 2:00 AM

Patricia May Breazile, 82, of Bonners Ferry went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday Dec. 6th 2015. She passed away at her home in Copeland with family by her side. She was born Dec. 13th, 1932 in Hillsboro, Oregon, the daughter of Paul Orin Ringle and Elsie (Haney) Ringle.

Pat graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1951. In December 1952 she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Richard (Dick) Breazile who was in the Air Force at the time. After his honorable discharge the couple settled down in Hillsboro and began their family.

By all accounts Pat was a wonderful cook, a skilled seamstress, artist, poet, and friend to many, but most importantly a loving and caring mother to her three children.

When her children were old enough, Pat accepted a position as office manager at the Hillsboro Elks Lodge No. 1682 where she worked for several years until a stroke forced her retirement in 1982. After her stroke Pat was an inspiration for many as she donated her time to caregiver’s training classes that were held periodically at Tuality Hospital. At which time she shared her own personal experiences and challenges to help give caregivers better insight into caring for loved ones who had suffered a stroke. She was also instrumental in organizing and leading the Hillsboro Stroke Club support group in conjunction with Tuality Hospital until she moved with her husband to Bonners Ferry in the summer of 2001 to be closer to family.

Being a city girl all her life she was in constant amazement at the abundant wildlife that surrounded her Northern Idaho home on any given day. And she never tired of spending her summer evenings with her husband watching the sun set over the Selkirks. Sadly, their time together in their new home came to an end all too soon as Dick passed away suddenly in Sept. of 2003. In spite of her disability Pat was determined to remain in the home she loved and with the help of family and loving caregivers, she did just that until the end.

Survivors include a daughter Debra Hampton of New Bedford, Mass., Robert (Jeanne) Breazile of Bonners Ferry, Craig (Tammy) Breazile of Blachly, Oregon; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind other loving relatives and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Breazile; a granddaughter Sarah Breazile; and a brother, Richard Ringle of Florida.

Cremation has taken place and in lieu of a funeral service family and friends will be invited to attend a celebration of Pat’s life in the summer of 2016.
